About the Band
A little rundown of the members of Klones, it's nice to get a little idea about the guys you'll be dealing with and listening to on the day.

Tony - Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar

Tony is the lead vocalist of the band and has been a professional singer for the past 25 years.

In the late nineties he lived in the North West of England and had a spell of fame as an EMI recording artist. He has toured the UK, performed in central Europe and has a reputation for being one of the most dynamic and entertaining vocalists on the circuit.

Tony deals with the majority of Klones social media enquiries so if you’re contacting us via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram then it’ll probably be him you speak with.

Tony is a professional DJ / Compere and at one time hosted his own radio show at The Edinburgh Royal Sick Kids Hospital. So whether you’ve got a specific playlist for in-between band sets or would rather we take the stress away from you and compile the tunes completely, it’s covered.

Chris - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals

Chris is the lead guitarist of the band.

He works as a professional musician and tutor, teaching students with a wide range of ages, abilities and social backgrounds. He has taught one-to-one lessons and facilitated larger group workshops as a specialist youth worker for various music organisations and schools in the Lothians.

He has performed on the same bill as multi-platinum selling artist James Arthur and more recently appeared on BBC2 when The Great British Railway Journeys visited his work taking part in their Ukulele class.

Chris has studied a variety of different genres of playing, the theory that goes behind them. After initially graduating from Edinburgh University with a degree in Japanese he has returned to complete his music degree at Napier University in 2018.

Glover - Bass Guitar

Glover is the bass player of the group and provides the low end through his five string bass.

He's played music since 8 years old starting out on the piano, picking up the guitar and even doing a short stint learning the drums before settling on the bass guitar at 13 years old.

Since then he's used it to graduate a Modern Musicianship course as well as playing live music consistenly since 16 years old. This adds to the musical theory expertise already present in the band with Chris.

His first 15 years saw him playing original music which achieved a publishing contract with a London agency. After that he decided to move into the cover music sphere and put the many techniques he had learned over the years to use in order to recreate the classic basslines heard on tracks that are guaranteed to get you dancing.

Sam - Mandolin & Backing Vocals

Sam is the mandolin and violin player of the band.

He cut his teeth musically learning the violin and singing in choirs. Consequently his grasp of harmony and melody is second to none.

He is the ceilidh specialist of the band and can easily call dances so even the biggest novice can take part like a pro.

Sam is also an Edinburgh based Playwright and won the Playwright Studio Scotland award for 2016/17. His first play The Place Between Sleeping and Waking was produced in 2010 whilst he was still studying Drama and Theatre Arts at Queen Margaret University. Since then, he has written plays for Strange Town Theatre Company, Ineffect, and New Celts/No Idling Theatre. His 2015 play All I Want for Christmas is The Head of Johnny Murdoch was shortlisted for a Chrysalis Award and in 2013 his '500 word' play Acorns was one of fifty selected by the Traverse Theatre for their Traverse Fifty competition.

Dale - Drums

Dale is the youngest and newest member of the Klones.

Providing the beat to get you tapping your feet and compliment the basslines being laid down by Glover.

Although new, he has fitted in quickly and tightly giving a powerful tight rhythm section to ensure that the dance floor stays full for the whole night.

Along with Chris he has completed his music degree at Naiper in 2018 rounding of the high level of musical skill rarely found in cover bands.

Dale also makes his day to day living as a drum tutor.
